Sovereigns

There are eight sovereigns pertaining to the schools of magic that have persisted through the Arcane Revolution. They're cultural leaders whose work in their actual bread-making jobs highlights the importance of magic and its use in society. Some are more active and well-known throughout the city, some are nameless, faceless figures.
