The Mage with the Scar

Ikarus was born and raised the right way: the Goawei.

Ikarus was a self-taught mage, her knowledge gleaned from memoirs, diaries, and books written by the legendary Goaweian mage, E’re Tostai. These texts were gathered during her family's nomadic travels across Goawei, where they earned their living by delivering messages. In every new town or village, Ikarus discovered yet another piece of E’re Tostai's legacy to pore over, further fueling her passion for magic.

However, the people of Goawei frowned upon the use of magic, viewing it as a means for the educated or powerful to impose their will upon the common folk. Enchantment and divination magic, in particular, were condemned as invasions of privacy and personal autonomy.

Despite this cultural disdain, Ikarus continued her studies. With each new book, she pushed the boundaries of her family's tolerance. Her relentless pursuit of magical knowledge eventually led to disaster. During a particularly violent altercation between two Goaweian families, Ikarus intervened using her magic. The encounter left her scarred, both physically and emotionally.

Accused of crimes for learning and practicing enchantment and divination, Ikarus was exiled from Goawei. Determined to prove that magic could be a force for good, she made her way to the city. There, she vowed to continue her studies and demonstrate that the path she had chosen could benefit the people of Goawei.

Current Day

Ikarus originally worked in city planning before getting transferred to DICC. She rents a really small studio apartment in the Municipal District
